World's first joint development - Keychron x Gizmodo unveil new trackball device at TGS2025

A new operating experience that expands the world from the home position

"Nape Pro (tentative title)" was born from the "Nape" project, which was started as a personal project by Amitou, an editorial staff member Gizmodo Japan .

This idea, which has been a hot topic in the DIY keyboard community, has now been developed into an official product, combining design and reliability, through collaboration with Keychron. It sets itself apart from traditional pointing devices, allowing for comfortable and intuitive cursor control without taking your hands off the home position. It offers a new experience for keyboard enthusiasts, as well as anyone looking to work comfortably over long periods of time on a PC.

We plan to open source the source code and 3D files of this project to the Keychron community (Discord, Reddit, etc.).

In addition, user-friendly web-based software for the Nape Pro will be available, allowing users to easily reassign keys, add custom functions, and change the sensor direction, tasks that are complicated with conventional trackball keyboards, for an even more advanced operating experience.
